Lyndsay Medeiros adopted a half-domesticated, half-wild turkey that she named Jerry after discovering him on Craigslist. Jerry's previous owners could no longer care for him. A recent trip to an animal clinic confirmed Medeiros' suspicions that Jerry might have a problem. She had thought he might be blind because it appeared he had cataracs. Medeiros was told Jerry will need corrective eye surgery to fix the problem. If a turkey can't see, it can't find food, which typically leads to an early death. (Continue story) |
